With the release of the new Sony Fs7 sony also releases 4K internal recording for the F5. Great news as is the introduction of the brand new Sony FS7 with has the same sensor as the F5. We put one or order! 🙂

  1. Looks like a great camera, much in the design tradition of Aaton, Eclair, and Arri — and they’re advertising it as a “verité” style camera.

In your opinion, what’s the lens to get if you want to do verité style work, which to me implies that often you need to be wider than the new 28-135 lens, once you count the 1.39 crop factor.

    1. Hi Ron. If I had my choice, and money was no obstacle, I’d get the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90/T2.9. Great range and even has the motor zoom. Then on to the other top of the line short/lightweight zooms such as Angi 15.5-45 or the Arri LWZ 15,5-45. A little short ending below 50 but lightweight. On the other end the DSLR lenses work great but of course the short focus throw will make it more of a challenge. Depends of how much your willing or able to have a second take on. 🙂 btw Thanks for checking out the blog.

    1. Wouldn’t that be nice. 🙂 Not quite the same focal length but The 18-35 Sigma is great, very sharp. Will vignette a little on Super 35 so useful between 20-35 if I remember correctly. A lot has to do with the physics of lens making. The Canon 17-55/2.8 is nice for the money. A little palsticy not as sharp as the L glass but works great on the C300 for example. Also has IS.
